This is an interesting post from the man himself when it comes to content lockers -
My own personal feelings aside, I find the stance that Google takes to be pretty hypocritical. They love to send out mixed messages and are constantly doubling back on what they said earlier, making it incredibly difficult for anyone to achieve consistency the the SEO space.
Best advice I can give is to look elsewhere for traffic if at all possible.
